Bina

Bina is a female Sumatran rhino who was originally captured in the forests of Bengkulu, Sumatra Island, in 1991. She was transferred from Taman Safari Indonesia (Bogor, West Java) to the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS) in Way Kambas National Park (WKNP) on January 8, 1998, where she has lived ever since.

Bina is estimated to have been born in 1980. Her name, “Bina,” was given because she came from Bina Samakta, an area in Bengkulu Province.
