Sedah Mirah, atau yang kami panggil dengan nama kesayangan \u201cMirah\u201d, adalah anak pertama dari pasangan Rosa & Andatu. Ia juga merupakan anak badak ketiga yang lahir di Suaka Rhino Sumatera (SRS), Taman Nasional Way Kambas (TNWK) pada 24 Maret 2022. Nama \u201cSedah Mirah\u201d sendiri diberikan oleh Presiden RI ke-7, Ir. H. Joko Widodo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kini, Mirah genap berusia empat tahun! Sejak usia dua tahun, ia telah dipisahkan dari induknya, Rosa, mengikuti perilaku alami badak sumatera yang hidup soliter. Saat ini, Mirah menempati area hutan seluas total 20 hektar & memiliki dua keeper yang secara bergantian memberikan perawatan setiap pagi, seperti sembilan badak sumatera lainnya di SRS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saat lahir, berat Mirah hanya sekitar 21 kg. Kini, di usia empat tahun, beratnya telah mencapai 662 kg! Kami bangga & bahagia bisa menemaninya tumbuh & memastikan ia menjalani hari-harinya dengan baik.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mari kita doakan semoga Mirah selalu sehat, bahagia, dan terus tumbuh kuat, menjadi harapan bagi masa depan spesies badak sumatera yang kini berstatus kritis terancam punah dan hanya tersisa di Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sedah Mirah, affectionately called \u201cMirah,\u201d is the first calf of Rosa and Andatu. She is also the third Sumatran rhino born at the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS), Way Kambas National Park, on March 24, 2022. The name \u201cSedah Mirah\u201d was given by Indonesia\u2019s 7th President.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Mirah is four years old! At the age of two, she was separated from her mother, Rosa, following the natural behavior of Sumatran rhinos, which are solitary animals. Today, Mirah lives in a 20-hectare forest enclosure & is cared for by two keepers who take turns providing her daily morning care, just like the other nine Sumatran rhinos at SRS.<\/span><\/p>\n

At birth, Mirah weighed only around 21 kg. Now, at four years old, she has reached 662 kg! We are proud & happy to have accompanied her growth and to ensure she lives her days well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s all wish for Mirah to stay healthy, happy, and continue to grow strong\u2014becoming a beacon of hope for the future of the Sumatran rhino, a critically endangered species now found only in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n
